Capt. Kowatchi ‎– The Conference Of The Birds (1997)

Been after this one for a while...finally broke down and got it.

Stumbled across his name on several of the Land of Baboon compilations and was always intrigued.

The title was intriguing as well because I went through a long period of interest in Sufism and The Conference of the Birds is a well known book by Farid al-Din Attar (thus the mystical vibe).

Scratched that itch...

  1. Sounds interesting enough. Cheers mate.

  2. This is some weird shamanic shit. Very intriguing. Makes me think of the movie Dead Man by Jim Jarmusch for some reason. Thank you.

  3. Great description. Curiously not as well known.

  4. Thanks to aorto/this blog, I tried (and have since purchased) all 3 of the `Land of Baboon` releases. Never heard of this Cpt. Kowatchi release, but going to try it now. Thanks again to aorto!

  5. this has been in my top 3 albums ever since i first bought it in 1999. "the mystic speaks" is the one that hits the hardest first, but now my favourite 'song' is "pilgrimage"... nothing is known about the capt. except that he may have become a carpenter.
